Search engine optimization is an easy way to promote a website. But most of the website owners do not know how to use it and that is why more and more mistakes are being made. The common SEO mistakes are tackled in this article.

The key to your goal as the top rank of a search result is to include keywords on your title. By this, you could tell people what the overall topic or relevance of your site and search engines will take note of that. Certain mistakes like this one done by a website owner could easily be resolved and just change a title into a catchy and at the same time, informative. As an example, you could expand and use the title “Homemade Cupcakes with Buttercream Frosting For Less” rather than “Cupcake Frosts”.

When you want to use an image to describe your website, make sure that you also put description into it because the search engines will only skip the site and move on to another. In case you really want to get a new site. Create a thumbnail and let the visitors click it and open a whole new page.

Using navigational links to feature an easier way for the visitors to search your site. Use HTML formats instead of Java Script because these are more easy to use. You could also take the advantage of making a better title like “Our Luscious Cupcakes”, instead of just “Our Products”.

Files that are too large are slower to download. Those who are using large image files for their site may bore their visitors because it will take their time to download it first before getting the whole idea of your site. Try setting up your images into 72 pixel solutions for faster results. But sometimes you can’t really help to post a large image. Make a strategy like using a thumbnail for them to open and will lead them to another page.

Every website must always focus on its content. You’ve got a great title, navigation link, right image sizes already fixed but without a content, your site is still a complete disaster. It is like a body standing without a backbone. Common SEO mistakes done by a site owner is to focus on the image or theme of the whole site and disregard what it really is about. A site must be packed with substance and search engines easily detect an informative site.

Duplicating someone else’s work is totally inappropriate. You put up your own site, then make your own contents as well. It illegal and very unethical to claim someone’s work as yours. It will only lead you as a site that isn’t recognized by the search engines because what you’ve put up on your site is done by another person. Most people do this “technique” to rank higher but what they did not know is that it could even be a more disaster for their site.

Hire someone to do the job for you if you find it hard to maintain a site. SEO is definitely not an easy task. Spare yourself some more energy and let another person do the SEO tasks and requirements.
